Learning with entertainment through youtube:: scientific communication on the channel nerdology

Abstract

The Convergence Culture is transforming the way we live, coexist, learn and teach. This article is a content analysis of two videos of the Youtube channel Nerdologia, which explains scientific topics using references to pop culture. Comments from viewers of the show and producers' answers also were analyzed seeking to understand how the audience interacts
among themselves and with the producers and how the channel format contributes to group learning of the people involved in the process. As a basis for the treatment of the results obtained, concepts from Henry Jenkins for Knowledge Community and Media Literacy, discussed in his work Convergence Culture, were used.
