Abstract

Circles of Invention are participatory creativity experiences that mobilize imagination by articulating: reading of thought-provoking stories, hands-on exploration of selected materials, construction of artifacts, creation and sharing of new narratives. The proposal catalyses Creative Learning, in line with Mitchel Resnick's research, unfolded from Constructionism, inaugurated by Seymour Papert. In this experience report we will share theoretical assumptions and practical examples that contributed to the emergence of the Circles of Inventions. We will present its framework and also the sustainable and open source Catalyst Kit designed for other educators to mediate circles and remix them in their contexts. The proposal is illustrated by the report of a cycle of Circles held at the Mirante Cultural (Pirituba, São Paulo-SP).
