Abstract

The objective of this article is to present how the paths between urban and rural spaces in the community of Gramame, located in the southern region of the capital of Paraíba, João Pessoa, are undertaken and understood by the children along their walks to the Escola Viva Olho do Tempo (EVOT), institution in which they participate in educational activities in the counter shift of the regular school. In this movement they stand out as the paths come alive and are transformed by the actions of the children in the bumpy streets that take them to the EVOT, emerging what they understand about the neighborhood where they live in front of the abrupt transformations due to environmental changes and accelerated urbanization. Finally, is drawn an analyse of how these paths between the urban in which the children reside, and the rural in which the EVOT is situated, provoke learning and (re) create actions involved in multiple senses and sensations that take them on these walks between contexts.
