Resumo
Em conjunturas de crise financeira, muitos governos nacionais foram obrigados a negociar acordos com o Fundo Monetário Internacional para receber empréstimos; em contrapartida, tiveram de adotar um Programa de Ajuste Estrutural. Porém, a austeridade fiscal prolongada prejudicou bastante as políticas sociais nos respectivos países. Este texto apresenta os sete artigos que compõem este dossiê, buscando assim introduzir o debate sobre a “proteção social em tempos de austeridade”.
