Abstract

The works of André Singer (2012) and Armando Boito Jr. (2018) stand out in the scope of Brazilian political science for seeking the meanings of the practices of the Workers' Party (PT) and the Lula da Silva governments (2003-2010) and Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016) based on class relations. According to Singer, the “subproletariat” taking off from the conservative parties and its adherence to “Lulism” and the PT mark a divide in Brazilian politics in the Brazilian politics, under the language of the rich and poor, especially in the 2006 elections and 2010.
