Resumen

En los países nórdicos – Dinamarca, Finlandia, Islandia, Noruega y Suecia – el Estado asumió un papel más importante en la satisfacción de las necesidades de las personas, sustituyendo al mercado y a la familia en la provisión de bienes y servicios mediante la movilización de la política económica y social. Este proceso avanzó tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, pero perdió impulso a partir de la década de 1970, especialmente tras la crisis financiera de 2008 y la crisis migratoria de 2015. Aunque los países nórdicos siguen estando en una posición mucho más favorable que otros países, la mayor resistencia a movilizar la política económica y la política social se ha reflejado en el deterioro de las condiciones del mercado laboral, incluido un aumento de los puestos de trabajo con contratos laborales atípicos, un incremento de las personas que necesitan recurrir a más de un empleo, un empeoramiento de las condiciones laborales, un aumento del desempleo y una mayor duración del mismo. Aunque toda la población activa se ha visto afectada, los hombres, generalmente jóvenes, los menos formados y los extranjeros han sido los grupos más afectados en este proceso.
