Abstract
Like the rivers that are born in Minas Gerais, the reviewed book shines as a powerful source of inspiration for new studies on composers and interpreters in Brazil. Revised version of the master's dissertation, defended in 2012 in the Post-Graduate Program in Sociology at Unicamp, “... of everything we dreamed of”: friends and songs from Clube da Esquina are part of the list of reevaluations about the impact of the launch of Clube da Esquina, the first double studio album recorded in Brazil. The analysis carried out, supported by Raymond Williams' concepts as a structure of feeling and cultural formation, provides reflections regarding the creation of forms of belonging. The initial proposal is to try to define what Clube da Esquina was: a musical movement, just the title of songs and albums or an informal group of composers and instrumentalists?
