Abstract
This present article is concerned about the discussion of the influence of Marxist thinking in the International Relations theory by the analysis of the concepts of “Empire” and “Imperialism” proposed in Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri´s construction, against Robert Cox’s construction. The “Imperialism” and “Empire” discussion will be responsible for bringing up all the controversial looks of the State’s role in the present order.
