Abstract
Human mobility is a phenomenon that has increasingly been noted in terms of the health consequences of both local populations and migrants at both poles of the circuits. Starting from a review of the authors who address the pathologies associated with the bodies of immigrants, the article discusses issues related to the social representations of community health agents of the new Haitian immigrants in a mediumsized city in the South of Brazil. The research was carried out through participant observation, interviews, formal and informal conversations with immigrants, health service managers and community health agents between 2014 and 2016. The results point to the need to qualify health services professionals for the reception of immigrants in order to prevent possible situations of suffering and difficulty in accessing health services by this vulnerable population.
