#Ocupaparaná: occupations of public schools in Paraná in October 2016

Abstract

The present work undertakes the reconstruction of a chronology of the events surrounding the movement of occupations of public schools in Paraná by high school students in October 2016, followed by a brief description of the internal organization of the occupations and concludes with the presentation of some reflections on aspects particularly relevant to the analysis of social movements in the 21st century. The work is based on on-the-spot observations of occupations that occurred in the cities of Cascavel and Toledo in the extreme west of the state, complemented by information disseminated by the mainstream press and by different channels on the internet.
