Abstract

This article aims to analyze the particularities of middle class unionism that differentiate it from workers' unionism. It also presents some elements for a comparative analysis between different sectors that make up the middle class, which we do not consider as a homogeneous bloc: there would be sectors that joined unionism and those that did not. The studies cited refer to: teachers, lawyers, engineers, architects, university professors, doctors, businessmen, managers, bankers and civil servants. Finally, it indicates some recent changes that have been affecting the middle class and that may have consequences for their respective unions.
