Music in Social Isolation: collaborations and reflections on lives as a space for performance and musical criticism.: colaborações e reflexões em lives como espaço de performance e crítica musical

Abstract

The objective of this work is to present how the musicians of the so-called Brazilian instrumental Popular Music and Jazz of Porto Alegre articulate in the face of the impossibilities of performance in physical events, resulting from the period of social isolation caused by the global pandemic of COVID-19. Through netnography, online field observation, complemented by my research in this music scene, I propose to expose the phenomenon of lives not only as a place for collaborative sound performance, but as a revealer of tensions and reflections on important aspects of the musical field itself.
