Resumo

Ao investigar as narrativas sobre a produção visual do período das independências africanas (ocorridas entre as décadas de 1950 e 1970), percebe-se que ainda são pouco exploradas, no que se refere ao cenário artístico-cultural da Nigéria, as conexões entre a constituição do nacionalismo nigeriano, o lugar dos igbos na identidade nacional e a produção artística no país.
