Resumo
Dado que o ser humano está inserido, segundo Gene Youngblood em Expanded Cinema (1970), em um meio ambiente que se constitui pela rede intermídia (TV, cinema, rádio, mídia impressa e posteriormente internet), somos condicionados, portanto, muito mais por essa rede de mídias do que pela própria natureza. As produções artísticas a partir dos anos 60 começam a refletir cada vez mais essa ambiência intermidiática, já que este é o environment ao qual pertence a maioria das pessoas, incluindo os artistas.
