Abstract

The relationships established between contemporary art museums and their audiences, concern all the staff of professionals involved, also covering aspects of the museum's educational sector. This essay presents an excerpt from the thesis, entitled “Environmental perception in museums landscapes of contemporary art: the legibility of the museums Inhotim / Brasil and Serralves / Portugal evaluated by the public / visitor”, defended in 2014 at PPGAU UFRN, addressing aspects related to interaction between the public and Inhotim. We refer to Falk's “interactive experience model” in “Identity and the museum visitor experience” (2009) and Greenberg, Reesa, Fergson and “Thinking about exhibitions” (1996). This work comprises a section of the bibliographic review of the qualitative research for thesis.
