Can an art museum have a collective, feminist and decolonial curatorship?

Abstract

In this article we seek to reflect on the collective process of building an art exhibition at the Museu de Arte do Rio - Mulheres na Coleção MAR - in articulations that interconnect dimensions of art and politics. Using authors who have dedicated themselves to the studies of decoloniality and gender decoloniality, we investigate the process of organizing the exhibition that provides relevant reflections on curatorial practices and power relations in the structures and functioning of the art museum.
