Pesquisas arqueológicas na região central do Estado de São Paulo

Abstract

The article will show a description of the two stages of the field survey already accomplished in the “Archaeological Researches in the Middle Mogi-Guaçu and Middle Jacaré-Guaçu, São Paulo State” Project. The works described in this article are part of a research done by CSS (Center for Strategic Studies / Campinas State University) archaeologists and have as its goals to evidence the indigenous past of the Araraquara region (especially ceramic sites), to produce a discussion about the heritage aspects of such remains and to discuss with the local population, by way of informal education, the multicultural formation of the region. Seeing the heritage education as the main goal of the project, the researches in the region still contemplate several forms of making public its results, many of them still in process: the assembly of thematic exhibitions, curses offered to K-12 teachers, publication of the partial and final results for the academic and non-academic public and training of college students interested in archaeology.
