Abstract
This paper intends to analyze the idea of Space in one of the building cuts madeby Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978), Interseção Cônica (Conical Intersect), made in 1975.This work, by deconstructing the usual notions of interior and exterior, full and empty, public and private, allows a discussion on the reframing of space, which assumes multipleand metamorphic meanings. Thus, this kaleidoscopic space contributes to a reflection on memory and the preservation of buildings’ historical identity.
