Abstract
This article offers firstly a review of published works concerning the Odyssey friezes from the Esquiline, one of the most important remaining paintings of ancient Roman art, while also adding some comments to the interpretation of Timothy O’Sullivan about the elite ambulatio that the friezes should stimulate. From the elements provided by this analysis, we intend to discuss some possible hypotheses regarding a reconstruction of the total ensemble of friezes, as well as their significance.
