Abstract

This article is meant to examine the emergence of hybrid customs in Christianity throughout the third century. For this, we enter the field of women’s clothing and decoration of Roman houses with emphasis on the writings of Tertullian and Clement of Alexandria. Furthermore, we treat the appearance of the images devotions as one of the earliest forms of cultural hybridity within the private Christian worship.
