Abstract

Personalités Artistiques is a conference of the archaeologist and expert on ancient Greek pottery John Robert Guy that have enjoyed little attention beyond the audience of the famous Parisian colloquium “Modes d’emploi”, in April 1995. Its synthetic text, here translated and preceded by a comprehensive introductory essay, proposes the investigation about pottery workshops, the practice of different techniques by the same painter, shared iconography, sketches, metal repairs and the export of black and red figure vases. All these lines are still little explored and could take advantage of the ancient pottery attributions as a starting point for development.
