Abstract

The following paper proposes an interpretation of the work by Giacomo Balla, Landscape, 1907, in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo, developing hypotheses to explain its acquisition by Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho in the occasion of formation of the former Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo, searching its importance to the collection of both museums as well as its place on the production of the artist and in the São Paulo and Italian artistic context. The reflections presented here are part of the conclusion of an undergraduate research developed by the author under the orientation of Prof. PhD. Ana Gonçalves Magalhães.
