Conarq`s TDAR resolution : analysis of the new proposed Informational requirements

Abstract

Introduction: The Trusted Digital Archival Repositories seek to provide mechanisms to ensure the authenticity of informational objects from an archival perspective. In Brazil, Conarq resolution 43/2015 was charged of structuring the requirements for the implementation of this type of repository and Hypatia, a model structured within the Scope of IBICT, sought to systematize its implementation.  As the publication of an update of the Conarq resolution approaches, it’s pressing to discuss what the impacts will be on the currently proposed role model. Objective: To identify the proposed requirements by Conarq’s new resolution and to evaluate their impacts on Hypatia’s model, Methodology: The research is based on the method of documental analysis and has a qualitative character. It also has an exploratory character, since it evaluates possible scenarios based on raised requirements. Results: The informational structure of the requirements present in Conarq’s resolution was systematized into four categories. These requirements were analyzed and their characteristics were described. In the end, the challenges to be overcome for their incorporation into Hypatia were identified. Final considerations: The Hypatia model is innovative in many ways, however, it’s clear that it’s not a finalized model, since it needs to constantly incorporate informational advances proposed by current standards. Analyzing the new Conarq resolution it was possible to identify the paths to be followed and what strategies can be adopted. It was possible to realize that it’s possible to systematize mechanisms in the current model that allow institutions to advance in the implementation of trusted digital archival repositories.
