Abstract
On a Sunday afternoon in early spring, March 24, 2019, we were welcomed by Mattijs van de Port at his home for this interview. D. in Anthropology from the Universiteit Utrecht, he is a professor of anthropology at both the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and the Universiteit van Amsterdam which, by the way, you can see from his living room window. The conversation of over an hour about his trajectory as a researcher and filmmaker took place beside a hammock, among images of saints, orixás, and sailors, and while sharing pies from Maastricht, his home town.
