Resumen
Dos términos de parentesco por afinidad en la lengua griega, gambrós (originalmente "marido de la hija" y "marido de la hermana") y pentherós (originalmente "padre de la esposa"), presentan dificultades semánticas. La discusión sobre sus antecedentes en protoindoeuropeo sigue abierta y, internamente al griego, los términos tienen una amplia variedad de significados en los períodos arcaico y clásico. Debido a esto, este artículo intenta describir la historia de su evolución semántica a partir del 8to al 4to siglo a.C., así como indicar los factores que pueden haber influido en este desarrollo. Después de discutir cómo se produjo la transición de estos términos del protoindoeuropeo al griego y examinar todas sus ocurrencias en los períodos arcaico y clásico con el fin de identificar el ego y el referente en cada caso, el resultado final es una sistematización más precisa de la distribución de los significados de gambrós y pentherós, teniendo en cuenta la diacronía , autores y géneros literarios. Esta sistematización apunta a diferentes evoluciones diacrónicas, que conducen a variaciones dentro de las mismas sincronías.
