Resumo
Este artigo argumenta em defesa da tese de que as alusões a Hesíodo no Idílio 10 de Teócrito não fazem desse poema necessariamente um texto não bucólico. A presença de Hesíodo é visível não apenas na fala e na canção de Mílon, mas também nas de Buceu, e nos dá várias pistas de como Teócrito percebia Hesíodo. O Hesíodo de Teócrito, no Id. 10 e em outras partes dos Idílios, não é meramente um veículo de “poesia didática” séria. A atitude impiedosa de Mílon, sua obsessão com trabalho e comida, e sua visão utilitária da poesia não podem ser simplesmente chamadas “hesiódicas”; elas representam, antes, o impacto de Litierses (outro cantor legendário) sobre Mílon. O Hesíodo de Teócrito é também um artista que canta sobre a beleza e o prazer, tanto na natureza quanto na própria poesia. O Hesíodo de Teócrito é de capital importância para a gênese da poesia bucólica.
