The imagined space: paths, circuits and connections

Abstract

This article presents our artistic art work developed over the last two decades. The main focus of the research raises questions related to space and time, pointing to different ways of thinking the image, whether in urban architecture, either on maps of continuous and discontinuous connections. These surfaces evoke traces of events and situations. It is also anchored in the concept of expanded photography and an experimental approach, whose creative process fuses mediums and techniques producing hybrid objects. The medium involved in the projects aim experimentation for new possibilities in the use of the image. So the traditional media such as: drawing, painting, print and above all photography, are expanded beyond their original praxis in favor of a new art process. Therefrom emerge images whose shapes reflect fictional, symbolic or imagined landscapes, maps, networks of continuous and discontinuous connections, or even spatial occupations, movements and displacements in the urban landscape.
