Abstract
For more than five centuries, the continuous colonial domination of Brazilian territory and the extraction of its resources have been responsible for the contact and also the voluntary isolation of indigenous peoples in these lands. While some were violently "attracted" and "pacified", others avoided and avoided as much as they could and can any kind of relationship with foreign communities. Isolated in corners that still allow them a certain autonomy, those groups that opt for isolation are often, as in this case, protected by tangential barriers, intentional or not, provided by their indigenous neighbors and by the Ethno-Environmental Protection Fronts of the National Indian Foundation. The photographs contained in this essay were taken from a fieldwork incursion in the state of Rondônia, between the months of July and August 2016. With them, I intend to describe in images some of the (non)relations that favor the existence of a people whose language is not even known.
