Chorão artes: report of experience of collaboration with the community

Abstract

This text presents a report of a collaborative project developed with the Menino Chorão (Crying Boy) Community, Campo Belo region, Campinas, SP, by a team made out of teachers and students from the Department of Performing Arts at Unicamp University. It was carried out with the support of the Unicamp’s Pro-Rectory of Extension and Culture, through the PEX Funding 2021/2022. It reflects on artistic-pedagogical activities developed with children from the community, on a weekly basis, between April and December 2022. In the Introduction, the project and the community are contextualized, as well as the relevance of conviviality that leads to interactions in which exchanges and common growth between University and Community are possible. Then, reflections from the experience of the activities with the children are presented, exposing difficulties and sharing strategies that were developed by the participants.
