Abstract
O Sistema Internacional de Unidades [SI] está fundamentado em sete unidades de base (comprimento, massa, tempo, corrente elétrica, temperatura termodinâmica, quantidade de matéria e intensidade luminosa) que, por convenção, são tidas como dimensionalmente independentes. Todas as outras são unidades derivadas, formadas coerentemente por multiplicação ou divisão entre si, sem fatores numéricos.
