Abstract
Alfredo José Gonçalves, better known as Father Alfredinho, is a Scalabrinian missionary and intellectual, who has dedicated himself for more than 30 years to the cause of two migrants inside Brazil. Born on the island of Madeira, in Portugal, in 1953, he has lived in Brazil since 1969, where he was ordained as a father, in 1984, by the Congregação dos Missionários de São Carlos Borromeu, whose charism is or care for migrants, guided by a biblical verse: “Eu I was a stranger and you vocês me acolheram” (Mt 25, 35).
