Resumo
A solução que Marx oferece para a questão do trabalho complexo na explicação do valor das mercadorias tem sido objeto de inúmeras controvérsias. Após quase um século e meio de debates, não obstante, nem os marxistas nem os detratores de Marx conseguiram entrar em acordo sobre o seu significado e, ainda pior, entre os marxistas também não houve um acordo sobre a verdadeira solução para o problema de comparar trabalhos de distintas complexidades. Neste contexto, o propósito do presente trabalho é reconstruir a história das controvérsias marxistas em torno dessa questão também com a intenção de destacar a importância dessa problemática e apontar um caminho para uma solução consistente com a explicação marxiana do valor. Assim, após uma reconstrução cronológica do debate, apresenta-se uma análise crítica na qual se avaliam as soluções que tiveram mais
peso na história do debate
