Abstract

Just over a decade ago, the world cinema market was invaded by films whose recurring theme has been “politically correct” multiculturalism. Among the most watched and profitable films in this line, considering their exhibition in cinemas around the world and, mainly, their exhibition on TV and the sale and/or rental of videos in VHS and DVD formats, are “The List Schindler”, by Steven Spielberg, “Life is Beautiful”, by Roberto Benigni, “No Man’s Land”, by Danis Tanovic, and “The Pianist”, by Roman Polansky. It is no coincidence that all of these films were marketed in the “war drama” genre and won several international awards, including the coveted Oscar from the Hollywood Academy of Art and Science.
