Resumo

Este artigo procura compreender as forças que produziram o governo de Donald Trump, e seu caráter distintivo como um fenômeno da sociologia política. Para tanto, é proposto o conceito de patrimonialismo neobonapartista (PNB) para caracterizar o presidente estadunidense, analisando sua conflitante relação com as estruturas tradicionais de dominação da potência capitalista. Ao mesmo tempo, o artigo discute como o governo Trump não pode ser analisado pelas lentes históricas do fascismo do período do entreguerras.
