Resumo

Denture stomatitis is a multifactorial inflammation of the region of the buccal mucosa associated with the use of total dentures that causes pain, ardence and discomfort to the patient and which is characterized as an erythematous lesion on the hard palate. One of the determining factors for the development of such condition is the exacerbated presence of Candida spp. Chalcone is a molecule belonging to the class of flavonoids and has anti-inflammatory, anti-thermal and antimicrobial activity. The objective of this work was to prospect 30 modified chalcones to determine the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and to analyze the antifungal activity of aminochalcone I35 against the mono and mixed biofilms of C. albicans and C. tropicalis, also testing the toxicity in human gingival fibroblasts (HGF) and in Galleria mellonella of this compound, both presenting low toxicity. Aminochalcone I35 presented excellent antifungal activity, with MIC and MFC of 7.8 ?g / mL against C.albicans and of 3.9 / 7.8 ?g / mL against C.tropicalis. The uses of 1X and 10X MIC of the compound against the formation and mature biofilm of C. albicans and C.tropicalis, both mono- and mixed, was able to reduce the amount of microorganisms when compared to the control. Aminochalcone I-35 has promising antibiofilm activity against C. albicans and C.tropicalis.
