Abstract

 Neste capítulo iremos discutir os aspectos perceptuais, cognitivos e afetivos da música; como estas categorias são definidas, a distinção entre seus aspectos e respectivos papéis no processo de criação, expressão e apreciação musical. Aspectos perceptivos são aqueles que descrevem a maneira como a informação sonora é percebida pelo sistema binaural (formado pelo par de ouvidos). Aspectos cognitivos são aqueles que tratam da memoria, significado e contexto de eventos musicais. Aspectos afetivos são aqueles que lidam com a evocação de emoções pela música, através do seu discurso de expectativas.
