Abstract

The Large Intestine Cancer is the 5th most diagnosed in Brazil, the 2nd most diagnosed on the Southeast region and the 3rd cause of death by cancer in Brazil, both in men and women. It is treatable and curable when diagnosed earlier. It appears, in 90% of the cases, from a benign and asymptomatic lesion, called polyp. Since 2012, CECOM performs an early prevention and diagnosis strategy for all employees after 50 years old. Currently, about 5,000 tests are distributed, with the average adhesion rate in four years was 56%. The Campaign's challenge is to increase people's participation. Study the non-adhestion causes of the individuals to the Campaign. In order to know the reasons for not performing the test, a questionnaire was created in 2015, sent electronically to the target individuals after the passage of the Campaign by the unit. 675 questionnaires were answered and analyzed. The figures demonstrated a significant decrease on the Positive tests, number of polyps and Adenocarcinomas, justifying the strategy expansion, to increase adhesion. After analyzing the questionnaires, we took the following steps: - answers by email, clarifying repoted doubts; - rentention of Kits from absent employees, to be delivered on the occasion of its return; - extension of the examination delivery time; at Units and CECOM. - 1st Enabler Meeting, to be repeated annually. These measurements' impact on the adhesion index will be known on the next years.
