Abstract

The pain is the most complex human health's dilemma. It involes nociceptive factors, anxiety, social disorganization, sleep disorder, depression, frustration and conflict with the care provided by health professionals. The chronic pain affects approximately 20% of developed countries population, reaching the individual, the economy and the general society. Its prevalence increases with age, affecting, in individuals over 70 years old, 79% women and 53% men. The treatment, differently of the one performed to the acute pain, does not have the purpose to remove the cause to obtain the total symptom regression, since what characterizes the chronic pain is the pain persistence after the cause treatment. The therapeutics must focus on the individual's functionality improvement, controlling the intensity and the pain frequency. Our proposal was to create and implement a multidisciplinary and multimodal attention model, to treat patients with musculoskeletal chronic pain situations, integrating the various Cecom services, providing the integral attention to these condition bearers, aiming the life quality improvement. In October 2015, we started the program CUIDE DE SUA DOR [Take Care of your Pain], with the implementation of a specific service flow to patients bearing musculoskeletal chronic pain, which foresees assessment/follow-up by the physiotherapist, medical consultation, drug therapy according to specific protocol and complementary therapy group and self-care. The preliminary assessment presents positive results, with objective and subjective improvement of patients being monitored, showing the method's therapeutic effectivity.
