Abstract

In 2015, a cycle of workshops and lectures was held to serve senior age, aiming to provide conditions for this population to remain active, both physically and mentally, meeting the need of physical and emotional development's stimulation and prevention, through interdisciplinary activities. One topic attracting great interest is learning and memory, whether for simple curiosity, or aiming to understand the diseases related to it and related to ageing. Keeping the cognitive functioning when ageing in daily life suggests a favor on the task performance efficacy when using their capacities and many studies have shown these potentialities. The memory training causes the aggregation to health promotion, autonomy and life quality improvement. Another very important point is the professors' training, essential to the future professor. A workshop was proposed to senior age, with concepts being presented on memory, and strategies to improve it. This space was also used as alternative to exercise the teaching practice with graduation and post-graduation students. As teaching practice, this project was very efficient, since the presenting student had the opportunity to acquire teaching experience. It was important to the community, since it could use the concepts learned on daily life. In addition to this, it favors the institution itself, presenting the differential of concern on the students' academic training.
