Abstract

Experiences were carried out at the Child Interaction Center - CeCI/Unicamp, which were created from the need to provide children with the deepest knowledge on themselves, on various human being nuances, with greater interaction, knowing each other as background. Even being unique, similarities and differences are identified when recognizing and valuating human diversity, from a process of knowing and respecting our cultural identities, with the purpose of rescuing and promoting individual and collective attitudes against prejudice and favoring the respect to the differences, concepts and specific characteristics, their values and their friends' values. The activities were developed from the story "You are special". Other stories were part of it, the songs, the games and the conversations. Other being and thinking ways were tried, in order to increase their conceptions on things and people when performing social roles or characters granted by the imaginary universe. We saw that this charming travel enabled to deal with the diversity issue, and children started to value their ethnic and cultural characteristics, followd by all physical characteristics, the way of acting and thinking and the way each one sees oneself and also the way one is seen by the other people, since their identity are being built, within the life valuation experiences.
