Abstract

Non-transmissible chronic diseases now account for most diseases and deaths in many countries, whether with low, medium or high social-economic condition. The death rates by NTCD are higher in low and medium income than in rich countries. Almost two thirds of premature deaths in adults (between 15 and 69 years old) and three quarters of all deaths in adults are attributable to such conditions. The aim was to analyze the chronic diseases, injuries and life habits of various groups of participants of the Unicamp's Program Mexa-se [Move] (2003 to 2014). Through specific anamnesis, 841 patients were assessed, both genders, aged from 31 to 69 years old. Analyzing this information, it was observed that 16.2% are already affected by a NTCD, this percentage refers to 137 people, which is very worrying, since in most groups assessed by the Program Mexa-se [Move] from 2003 there are incidences of NTCDs and risk factors in the university population, which deserves attention regarding the possible absenteeism rate at work, and, that such factors borne work hours and public spending, mentioning hypertension, diabetes and even obesity with higher level.
