Abstract

The project was developed at the Child Interaction Center - CECI, from Unicamp, in 2016, with sixteen children aged 3.5 years old and their relatives. The work's main purpose was to welcome and integrate children and their caregivers in the nursery's environment, through interventions in the physical space, awareness and establishment of positive bonds among adults. On the first parents' meeting, using the background song "Eu te desejo" [I wish you], by Vanessa Wenceslau, we started to build the Tree of Wishes. The parents wrote on brown paper, which would be the trunk, their deepest wish to the child. Subsequently, we read the parents' messages to the kids and asked them what they wished for themselves. We transcript the children's reporting in fruits that were glued on the treetop, made with apple box. The Tree of Wishes was our first piece of collective art. In accordance with the Annual Dedic (Child and Complementary Education Division) Project of revitalizing the nursery spaces, the project resulted in the preparation of two more art canvas (made by different techniques), planting grains in the park's vegetable garden spaces and cooking activities. In addition to the above-mentioned items, every child and every family developed a feeling of belonging and identification with the nursery spaces; this was very favorable to the personal and social relationship and growth of all people involved in the project.
