Abstract

This study "Arts in Hands" was idealized in 2013, with the creation of a research group acting on the human resources department at Hospital da Mulher - Women's Health Full Attention Center (Caism) from Campinas State University (Unicamp), interested in meeting, valuating and offering a space to the Hospital's handcraft employees to exhibit their manual works to the internal community. The Purpose was to show the handcraft importance as an educative, integrative, motivational activity, as well as a work and income generation option. Initially, we organized and coordinated the 1st Caism's Artisans Meeting in 2013. We began with studies revealing that the hospital environment unifies stress-triggering factors, becoming an environment conducive to disease development. Therefore, interventions that contribute to reduce stress levels in the hospital environment work as health promotion enablers, and with the positive results pointed out in assessments, we were motivated to continue the project. From that moment on, the Caism's Group of Artisans was invited to exhibit their works in annual themed events, organized by the hospital's Human Resources Service.
