Abstract

We introduce the actions performed in the project "Olhar sobre a cultura Indígena" [Look at the Indigenous Culture]. The central focus is a traveling exhibition, made up by indigenous materials (pictures, banners, videos, handcrafts, feathers and hunting and fishing materials) produced by various ethnicities, to be exhibited at schools, where the protagonists tell their stories, (re)telling our culture history. The goal is to show the indigenous culture to students, the material and immaterial values and their valuation. Establishing relationships between cultures, according to proposal by 2008 Law 11.645, which emphasizes the obligation of teaching history and indigenous culture at education institutions. However, this action lacks pedagogic support, and it was the starting point and this project influencer. From various workshops, it was possible to work theory and practice, converging to a more educative, integrated and participative learning, and the students also had the opportunity to build materials about the indigenous culture, retelling the story and also being recognized in this proposal. The action was successful, starting on February 08, 2016. It served 4 schools and involved 300 students.
