Abstract

Initially, all participants are subject, in a biannual basis, to physical assessment and specific anamnesis (weight, height, fat %, skin folds, and waist circumference perimeter and oxygen capacity). The purpose was to prepare and implement the training methodology with offered activities groups. The training methodology, initially established on the physical fitness groups (8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) including initial stretching - duration 10 minutes; initial warm-up - duration 10 minutes; preventive activities - duration 40 minutes. The resistance exercises' activities applied encompass: lower limbs - 3x15 series, 2kg load during 10-sec pause; upper limbs - 3x15 series, 2 and 3kg load during 10-sec pause; abdominal exercises - 3x20 series during 10-sec pause; aerobic exercise in various circuits at Praça da Paz during 1'30sec. with 20-sec pause. The loads, series and time are subject to gradual changes of increase, according to the group progress. It is expected that through developed exercise practices, the participants decrease body mass index, decrease abdominal waist measure and sin fold measures, and consequently, the health improvement, the wellness, the lifestyle (behavior changes) and consequently, the subjects' life quality, both at the work environment and on daily life.
