Abstract

The FCM Memory Center (CMA/FCM) has, in its proceedings, a process to receive personal archive donations from FCM professors who were part of the unit's history. As of 2012, the FCM Library became part of this work; therefore, this poster's purpose is to describe this added partnership after the two services' role definition. Methodology: after Work Group appointment made by FCM Director, a specialist committee is created, according to the archive area, having as members CMA/FCM, FCM Archive and Library, Central Archive, Central Library Cesar Lattes/Rare Works Section and Health Science History's Study Group. The partnership enabled the constitution of a new process flow, for assessment between books and other kinds of documents, in which the sets are identified by both areas and can be physically destined, to the adequate areas according to the final custody use (CMA/FCM, Central Archive, Academic Library or Rare Work Library), therefore benefiting the preservation and access to the material produced by the researcher. Until now, 06 archives were assessed. This process improvement enable the rescue of these document sets, based on the assessment by a multidisciplinary Work Group, with specialists in health sciences, archives, library science, rare works and history to analyze the donation content and, therefore, the documents could have a final destination according to the assessment by this new multidisciplinary group.
