Resumo

Most of aour information about the structure and properties of sub-atomic particles is based on the analysis of high-energy scattering data. Describing the dynamics of particle interactions, the Standard Model is currently the accepted theoretical framework of particle physics. In this paper, staring with a bried account of the history of particle physices, we review some aspects of the Standard Model wich are used to describe high-energy hadron interactions.
