Abstract

Marxism and Human Sciences brings together works presented at the “Second Marx and Engels Colloquium”, organized in November 2001 by the Center for Marxist Studies (Cemarx) at IFCH, Unicamp. As can be seen in the presentation of the work, the definition of the human sciences is a first field of conflict. Hence the editors start from, on the one hand, a practical-academic criterion: identifying the human sciences as they appear in the current university institutional panorama, and, on the other hand, highlighting a minimum unity in the Marxist field: the conception of socialism as a necessity or historical possibility.
