Abstract
Zero to the left (which could be subtitled “the world in reverse”), a collection of articles and interviews by Paulo Arantes published from 1997 to 2003, is a book that comes at the right time, precisely because it contributes to the urgent task to rethink the left in Brazil. Instead of sticking with the “usual good stuff,” the author’s intellectual integrity forces him to start with “new and bad things”, in the spirit of the collection previously coordinated by him and Iná Camargo Costa at Editora Vozes.
