Abstract
Heir to the nationalist thought of the first half of the 20th century, radicalized in the wake of the Cuban Revolution, the Latin American critical intellectual tradition, especially Brazilian, visibly lost steam in the 1980s, until showing signs of complete exhaustion in the 1990s, when some of the its main representatives, especially academics, accessed political power.
